Anderlecht sign Jan-Carlo Simić from AC Milan
The 19-year-old Serbian defender signed a five-season contract
19 years old, a Serbian youth international and a big talent from AC Milan: Jan-Carlo Simić is RSC Anderlecht's first summer transfer. The young central defender signed a contract until 2029 at purple and white.
Jan-Carlo spent his childhood years in Germany with Stuttgart, before making the switch to AC Milan in 2022 at the age of 17. At the Rossoneri, he was named best defender of the Primavera League last season, where he captained the U19 who made it to the Youth League final.
The young defender also immediately featured in six games for AC Milan's first team squad last season, underlining his qualities by scoring immediately on his debut at San Siro against Monza.
CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg:
"Now that we have secured Jan Vertonghen for an extra season, Jan-Carlo is the next important piece of the puzzle. He is an extremely talented, young player with some experience already in one of the biggest leagues in Europe. He fits our style of play: he is a player who likes to have the ball and is comfortable in the build-up, yet he is also aggressive and strong in the duels when defending. He is also a player with a mature personality for his age. So we are very pleased to have been able to secure a young talent with a bright future for the long term."
Jan-Carlo Simić:
"I am very proud to sign with such a prestigious club as Anderlecht. Everyone knows Anderlecht and the world-class players who started their careers here. So it seems like the perfect step for me to continue to grow and learn from the more experienced players. I look forward to celebrating victories with my teammates and the fans."
