Change at the top of RSCA Women
Former RSCA Women player Laura De Neve and Head of Legal Pieter Braeckman are taking over from Dave Mattheus as Women’s Director.

Under the leadership of Sporting Director Antoine Sibierski, they will be responsible for the day-to-day management of RSCA Women’s activities.
From 1 January 2027, De Neve and Braeckman will join the RSCA Women’s management team. Braeckman will contribute to strategic and financial decisions, whilst De Neve will set the sporting direction.
By entrusting the reins of Belgian women’s football’s most successful club to this Mauves legend and former Red Flame, RSCA is confirming its commitment to women’s football more than ever. Working as a duo, the focus will be even more firmly on growth and professional development.
De Neve hung up her boots in May 2026, after seventeen successful seasons in the Mauves shirt. Since becoming captain in 2018, the women’s team has won seven league titles, two Belgian Cups and one BeNe Cup. In 2021, De Neve was voted Professional Player of the Year.
At the end of a career as long as it was distinguished, she joined the RSCA Women’s coaching staff. As Talent & Transition Coordinator, she played a key role in integrating young talent into the first team. A role she will now take on in greater depth.
Laura De Neve:
“To have this opportunity at the club to which I have given my all for the past 18 years is a tremendous honour. Pieter and I will continue to build on the foundations laid by Dave, with a particular focus on ongoing professionalization. We will each bring our own touch to the various departments.”
Pieter Braeckman was already involved in the strategic and financial decisions at RSCA Women. He now officially takes on this responsibility, alongside his current role as Head of Legal.
Pieter Braeckman:
“It is an honour to lead the RSCA Women’s department alongside Laura De Neve. Women’s football in Belgium and across Europe has enormous potential for growth, and RSCA wants to be and remain a leader in this field. Thanks to Dave, we are inheriting a very solid organisation. It is now up to Laura and me to continue this work, focusing on the ongoing professionalization and growth of our brand.”
Braeckman and De Neve will officially take up their posts on 1 January 2027.
Dave Mattheus, Women’s Director, has decided to take on a new challenge and is leaving the club. A true connoisseur of women’s football, he joined RSC Anderlecht in 2022 as head coach of the women’s team, before becoming its director two years later.
Under his leadership the Women’s team won two league titles and one Cup. Behind the scenes, Mattheus also successfully spearheaded the professionalization of the women’s team. The strengthening of the coaching staff, international friendly games and the launch of the Stellar programme: all these steps have brought RSCA Women back to where they belong, at the very top of Belgian football.
RSC Anderlecht would like to sincerely thank Dave Mattheus. All the best in the next chapter of your career, Dave.
