Jan Michaelsen strengthens the first team staff as assistant coach
An addition to the first team staff
Jan Michaelsen (53) is strengthening the first-team staff as assistant coach and Head of Individual Coaching. Jan Michaelsen joins us from the Danish federation (DBU) where he was head coach of the U20s. Jan is a first reinforcement for the first team staff, with the club also aiming to recruit a Belgian assistant coach.
Jan Michaelsen has both French and Danish nationality. As a player for several Danish clubs and Greek side Panathinaikos, he played 217 games at the highest level, including in the Champions League, and collected 20 caps for the Danish national team.
Michaelsen began his coaching career in 2009 with the youth academy of Denmark's top club FC Copenhagen. After spells as youth coach and as Academy Manager at several Danish clubs, he was appointed head coach of Denmark's U20 national team in 2022, while also taking charge of the women's U23 team. In that role, he was instrumental in the progression of young talents from the U23 teams to Denmark's respective first teams.
Welcome, Jan.
