Nilson has always been considered a great talent in his homeland Ecuador. With his dribbling ability and nose for goals, he stood out at his team LDU Quito and was voted most promising player of the year in the league. His first selection for Ecuador's national team also followed in 2021.
In 2022, he made the move to RSC Anderlecht. At purple-white, the winger got the chance to gain experience and develop further towards the first team. Last season, Nilson gradually made his way into the starting line-up - he featured in every match of the Champions' Play-Offs.
Meanwhile, Nilson also emerged as a regular in the Ecuadorian national team. This summer, he started in every match for his home country. He was therefore part of the team that drew against Brazil and secured victory against world champions Argentina. Nilson thus also contributed to Ecuador's World Cup qualification.
After a rewarding summer, Nilson made a great start to the season at RSC Anderlecht. In 10 games so far, he delivered 5 assists and 2 goals.
Sports Director Olivier Renard:
"We have seen Nilson make a lot of progression since last season's play-offs, both in terms of his personality and in his performances. He showed that in his games for Anderlecht, but also with the national team. He can serve as an example for other young players within our club, who are given the right framework to develop and thus fulfil their potential. We look forward to seeing him confirm all the good things he has shown so far."
